Optomech was on the road in the first week of April. Our CEO Andreas Hermann took part in a delegation trip of German companies to Switzerland. Representatives from 12 German companies and several trade associations traveled to Switzerland to exchange ideas and network on the topic of “Photonics and optical technologies with a focus on smart manufacturing”.
The event was organized by the German-Swiss Chamber of Commerce. It brought together leading experts, scientists and industry representatives to shed light on current developments, innovative applications and technological breakthroughs, discuss key challenges and promote exchange in this dynamic field.

The event began in St. Gallen with a tour of the city and a joint dinner. Numerous other companies, institutions and associations from Germany and Switzerland were also present at the specialist conference on the second day. In addition to interesting presentations, particularly on current trends, the German participants were given the opportunity to present their companies. In so-called Tech Talks, there was then a joint exchange on specific focus and trend topics such as “Endoscopic imaging” or “Laser processing with a focus on smart manufacturing”.

The next few days were spent visiting selected regional reference projects, where we were also able to learn a lot about the Swiss market. Finally, on Friday, there was time for individual contact and cooperation discussions.

After a week full of inspiring impressions, we are looking forward to implementing new ideas, perhaps even with new cooperation partners.
