Optomech GmbH is expanding its product range with another high-precision tool for fine adjustment. The new analog micrometer head has a measuring range of +4 to -4 mm, with a scale division of 0.01 mm. It has a particularly fine spindle pitch of 0.2 mm per rotation.
In contrast to conventional micrometer heads, the Optomech version has a scale with a ± display, which has advantages for many applications. The zero position is in the center of the scale. Position changes in both the plus and minus ranges are easy to read. This saves users the extra step of memorizing a self-selected zero point. Thanks to the 0.2 mm gradient, it is easy to read the values in both plus and minus on the thimble.
The shaft currently has a standard M6 thread, but can be adapted to customer requirements. Optomech’s micrometer head is made of stainless steel. It is vacuum-compatible and also suitable for clean rooms.
