Next Wednesday, the Photonics Hub Symposium „Plastic optics for high-tech applications“ will take place in Darmstadt. Plastic optics are replacing comparatively expensive and heavy glass, especially in mass production. The symposium will provide an insight into the production steps and challenges of plastic optics.
Optomech will also be giving a presentation on the special features of designing frames for plastic lenses under the harsh temperature conditions of the automotive industry from -40° to +105°. The solution for temperature compensation and centering of the optics is reported on using the example of completed projects.
